DMRL Launches New Site and Forum
Since the Driven Mavericks Racing League decided to make the switch from NASCAR Racing 2003 Season to iRacing.com for its racing plans, it was decided that things needed to be revamped wholesale for the league. This meant that the forums and website needed an overhaul. Work began on this new site shortly after the move to iRacing was announced, and slowly things were taken down off the old site, and things were being built on the new one.
Now, this didn't mean that everthing from the old site got moved over, because let's face it, things were a bit too complicated and dated. Some existing things are being reorganized to make it more professional and more user friendly, while there are some totally new things being developed. But that's just the beginning. We have a league management program that instantly updates the points and results from races, all by only importing an iRacing race CSV file.
Even with all that, it's only the tip of the iceburg on what all we have planned for the league. There are more features to come with our league manager which will interact with the new Driver Manager being built on the bones of our NR2003 car file updater. The new Driver Manager will allow uploading of car skins, helmet skins, and driver suits; allow a driver to apply to start a team or join a team; and even display your league statistics. This will of course be accomplished in phases, with the first phase - uploading car skins - coming very soon.
There are also some fantastic racing events on the horizon. We are in the process of introducing a World GT style series which will allow fantastic road racing with up to 3 different classes of cars on the same track. Once our NASCAR based series are established we will be starting the DMRL "No Bull" program based on the classic bonus paying series from Winston. The top five finishers from one of our 5 crown jewel events will be eligible for the bonus at the next event; the winner will receive bonus points and a $12.00 iRacing gift certificate, courtesy of the DMRL.
